Environmental Benefits of Thin Computing
| This White Paper examines the environmental benefits of thin computing compared to conventional desktop business PCs. By examining four key issues associated with the environmental aspects of computing in general – energy efficiency, life span/reliability, reduction of hazardous and raw materials, and recyclability – this White Paper provides an analysis showing how thin computing can have a positive environmental impact by reducing the environmental footprint of computing processes. Considering the entire lifecycle from cradle-to-cradle, the Global Warming Potential (GWP) of thin vs. conventional desktop computing is introduced. This analysis and accompanying guidance will facilitate informed decision making and communication with stakeholders. |
